NEW DELHI: Kuwait defeated Bangladesh 1-0 on Saturday in the semifinal of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship being held in the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore city in south India.

Abdullah Ammar scored the only goal of the match in second minute of the extra-time, helping Kuwait reach the final. In earlier group matches, Kuwait defeated Nepal 3-1 and Pakistan 4-0, and drew with India 1-1 to lead Group A. In the final, Kuwait will take on either India or Lebanon who are locking horn later today in the same stadium. - KUNA
