KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources has banned the import of all poultry products from India due to concerns of H5N1 (bird flu). Kuwait accounts for only a fraction of India’s export market to the Middle East, importing around 24.19 tons of poultry annually.
The ban is a precautionary measure due to recent outbreaks of bird flu in several areas of India including Tripura and Mizoram. India is a major supplier of poultry products to Saudi Arabia and Oman.
