ROME: His Highness the Amir of Kuwait's Fifth International Shooting Cup, held in Italy, concluded successfully on Monday with Kuwait's shooters achieving a total of three medals; two gold and one bronze. The annual event, which saw participation of over 420 shooters from 16 countries in the Italian central region of Umbria, where competitions took place at the Umbria Verde Shooting Range in the hilltop town of Todi.
The President of CONI Umbria Domenico Ignozza and Kuwait Charge d'Affairs Sami Al-Zamanan handed over the medals and trophies to the winners. The event concluded with the double trap mixed teams competitions, in which Chiara Di Marziantonio and Erik Pittini won the first place, while Kuwait's Eman Al-Shamma and Mansour Al-Rashidi came fourth, and Sheikha Al-Rashidi and Abdulaziz Al-Saad came sixth.Al-Shamma won the first place in the Skeet competition in the fourth day of the championship, while the shooter Ahmad Al-Afasi managed to achieve third place in the double trap in the competition. Furthermore, Kuwaiti shooter Abdulrahman Al-Faihan has won gold in the trap event of the Italian Open Amir Shotgun Cup. For his part, Ignozza congratulated Kuwaiti shooters for achieving excellent results at such a high-level international event, which saw strong competitions by well-renowned shooters from various world countries.
Meanwhile, Al-Zamanan expressed deep pride of Kuwaiti shooters' notable accomplishment at the event, congratulating them on their achievement, which was a result of great efforts exerted by Ministry of State for Youth Affairs and Kuwait Shooting Federation. - KUNA
