KUWAIT: Secretary General of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Obaid Mnahi Al-Osaimi lauded the responsible and courageous stand of the Kuwaiti delegation that met the international Olympic committee in Lausanne, Switzerland headed by Information Minister, State Minister for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al- Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah by rejecting all threats to suspend Kuwaiti sports activities and emphasized Kuwait sovereignty, and confirmed compliance with laws issued by authorities as they do not contradict the Olympic charter and international laws. Al-Osaimi said Kuwait Shooting Sport Club supports and respects Kuwaiti laws issued by concerned authorities in the name of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah which aim at enhancing Kuwait sports and its athletes in all fields.
Al-Osaimi was speaking during the closing ceremony of the referees’ course that precedes the launch of the new season of KSSC with the annual championship of HH Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah as well as the 13th Gulf Championship in which all GCC countries plan to participate. He said that such courses are very important to ensure the success of any championship, adding that the Asian Championship will be held after the above mentioned championships making some delegations to decide holding training camps at Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex to prepare well for the tournament to ensure winning the quota places and qualify for the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2016 Olympics. He added that 1,200 shooters and officials will represent 35 countries in this very important tournament
