KUWAIT: Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) awarded Kutayba Yusuf Alghanim, Executive Chairman of Alghanim Industries, a trophy and certificate of appreciation for his company's generous donations towards COVID-19 relief efforts during recent months. Alghanim was awarded by Dr Hilal Al-Sayer, Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, and Anwar Al-Hasawi, Deputy Chairman.
During his visit, Dr Sayer lauded the longstanding relationship between the KRCS and Alghanim Industries, valuing the charitable donations of the company to help KRCS in its activities to confront repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic across Kuwait. He noted: "Alghanim Industries, under the leadership of Kutayba Alghanim, spared no effort in supporting the various activities of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, an expected action from a pioneering Kuwaiti business figure, reflecting the true Kuwaiti values of generosity and solidarity."
Commenting on receiving this award, Kutayba Alghanim praised the KRCS relief efforts during the pandemic, adding: "It is an honor to be recognized by a reputable leading organization such as the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, who will always have our unwavering support. It is also an honor for Alghanim Industries to be among the leading private sector organizations recognized for their contribution to the various KRCS campaigns in fighting this pandemic.
In these trying times, though, we mustn't forget those who deserve the true honor: our daughters and sons on the front lines, who have been working tirelessly for months to contain the spread of this virus. They deserve our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude."
Alghanim Industries, one of the largest privately-owned companies in the region, is one of the main donors to the KRCS. It finances a student fund in collaboration with the KRCS and the Arab Open University to provide underprivileged youth access to higher education, enabling them to expand their career opportunities in the future.
The students under this fund are nominated and awarded through a competitive selection process led by the KRCS. Alghanim Industries reiterated its commitment to this initiative, underscoring the importance of supporting education, which opens career opportunities and helps members of underserved communities achieve financial independence.
