KUWAIT: Kuwait Red Crescent (KRCS) Chairman Dr Hilal Al-Sayer on Sunday commended donors in Kuwait - including citizens, expatriates and businesses alike - for their donations to the organization's fundraisers for Lebanon. In a press statement, Sayer said Kuwaitis contributed generously to support Lebanon, helping the organization in its role to support hospitals with medical equipment, distribute food and medical supplies and visit the injured.

Sayer said he is grateful to these donors, who have provided Lebanon with a lot, noting that the goal is to assist anyone impacted by the recent devastating blast in the capital Beirut.

Thanks to the donations, Kuwait has provided medical devices and equipment, through KRCS, to several damaged hospitals. These hospitals include the likes of Wadia Hospital, Lebanese Hospital Geitaoui, Makassed General Hospital, Al-Roum Hospital and Karantina Hospital, he mentioned. Other health facilities include the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon, which treats over 300 children battling the sickness.

The assistance provided aims to enhance the center's capabilities, improve the quality of services provided, while giving rapid treatment to patients, he explained. KRCS field teams in Beirut are distributing humanitarian aid to those impacted on a non-stop basis, in collaboration with the Lebanese Red Cross, Sayer reiterated. - KUNA
