KUWAIT: Matches between professionals at the late Khalid Al-Ghunaim 9 Ball Tournament being held at Hot Shot Plazio in Hawally, were hot and strong at the end of the group qualification matches. Kuwait’s Omar Al-Shaheen and Mishal Al-Mardhi, UAE’s Omran Salem and Mohammad Al-Housani made it to the next rounds along with ranked world champions Ralf Souqet of Germany, USA’s Shane Van Boening, Polish Champions Mathews Thomas and Philippines Alan, Alvis, Ruholio Junior, Tommy and Youhan.
There is still a chance for 16 players to make it to the next stage including Kuwait star Abdallah Al-Yousuf and Fawaz Al-Rashidi. Meanwhile, the final match in the youth category will be between Abdallah Shiha and Mohammad Al-Muhanna who beat Abdallah Al-Enezi in the semifinal round.
In the women’s category Shahad Khader took the title after defeating Dalal Al-Mathen 5/1, while third place went to Dina Khader after defeating Noura Al- Busaili 5/3. Shahad said she was happy to participate in the late Khalid Al-Ghunaim tournament and thanked sponsor Fahad Khalid Al- Ghunaim for giving women the opportunity to compete
