KUWAIT: Kuwait pistol shooters, participating in the Arab 10m Pistol and Rifle Championship, organized by Tunis Shooting Federation won a gold and a bronze medals during the first day of competition.

Shooter Hamad Abdullah Al-Namshan won the first place and the gold medal of the 10m pistol singles competition, while Egypt’s Hafez Ibrahim won silver and Iraq’s Ali Al-Mousawi won the bronze medal in the same event.

Meanwhile, in the ladies category, Kuwait’s Ghizlan Al-Hindi won the bronze medal following tough competition with Egypt’s Hala Al-Jauhari who won the gold medal while Duaa Chaljoum from Tunis won the silver medal.

The Arab 10m Pistol and Rifle Championship started on Wednesday 19/5/2024 in the presence of Vice President of the Arab Shooting Federation, President of African and Egyptian Shooting Federations Maj General Hazem Hosni, who deputized for President of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federation Duaij Al-Otaibi.

Eng Al-Otaibi thanked Hazem Hasni for attending the opening of the competition on his behalf. He also thanked the president of Tunis Shooting Federation Redha Al-Manae for hosting the championship, and the good organization and the facilities given to the participating Arab delegations.

Al-Otaibi pointed to the importance of such events in preparing Arab Shooters for Olympic and International competitions, specially that Arab Shooting witnessed an important development lately at the administrative and technical levels.

He said "the Arab shooting is enjoying major support from HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex is home of the Arab Shooting Federation.

Al-Otaibi expressed pride in the achievements of Kuwait shooters in this event so far, as the efforts of members of the board as well as the technical and administrative departments enabled Kuwait shooters to make such big achievements.

Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi dedicated this achievement to HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the government and the people of Kuwait.

He also thanked the Public Authority for Sport for its support of Kuwait shooting and shooters.
