KUWAIT: The price for a PCR test should not exceed KD 20 at any certified labs in Kuwait, the Ministry of Health said in a letter to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation yesterday. In the meantime, the DGCA has formally informed local airlines that Kuwaitis are not allowed to travel unless vaccinated against COVID-19, in compliance with a Cabinet decision released in that regard.
Separately, Kuwait's Ministry of Health had announced on Sunday recording 828 new coronavirus infections and six related deaths in the previous 24 hours. The new figures took the total cases in the country up to 291,629 and deaths to 1,693 respectively, noted the ministry's spokesman Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad. He pointed out that some 1,028 more people had been cured of the virus over the same period, raising the total of those who have had overcome the disease to 277,820.
The number of people hospitalized with the virus stood at 12,116 as of Sunday, with 186 of them in intensive care units, he added. Dr Sanad revealed that some 6,996 swab tests were conducted over the same period, bringing the total to 2,460,103. He renewed public calls to abide by health precautions in order to curb the spread of the virus. - KUNA
