Amman: Organized by the Jordanian Military forces, military exercises, dubbed "Eager Lion 2002", kick-started in Jordan, with the participation of army forces from 26 countries, including Kuwait.

The drills aim to boost cooperation between all participating military forces and governmental institutions, head of the kingdom's Military Information Directorat Mustafa Al-Hiyari said in a press release.

The drills, which last until September 15, are attracting some 3,000 troops from 26 countries, including eight ones, he said.

The participants will have several meetings, seminars and classes to gain expertise and promote the concepts of cooperation and international partnerships, he added.
