KUWAIT: MunicipalCouncilmember and head of Ahmadi governorate committee Fuhaid Al-Muwaizrilauded a decision by State Minister for Municipal Affairs Fahd Al-Shula to forma specialized committee with several government agencies as members withregards to dealing with Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh's problems. He said the committeewill concentrate on checking all "negatives" in the area and find thenecessary solutions within six months. The committee will then submit itsreport to the minister.

Muwaizri said thearea has numerous problems, in addition to the escalating health andenvironmental issues, adding it's a "catastrophe" according to allstandards. He said the area is considered a haven for lawbreakers and residencyviolators, and has piles of trash, insects and rodents, with an absence ofhealth and educational awareness among its Asian communities.

Meanwhile, thecommittee following up with the issue of 'bachelors' residing in privateresidential areas, headed by Deputy Director General for Farwaniya and MubarakAl-Kabeer affairs Ammar Al-Ammar, held a meeting with the participation ofFarwaniya security director, director of environment police, debris departmentdirector at the Environment Public Authority, assistant undersecretary fordistribution networks at the ministry of electricity and water, representativeof the Public Authority for Civil Information and other officials.

The meetingdiscussed obstacles the team faces in order to remove them and stop thephenomenon of single expat men living in private residential areas. The"Be Sure" campaign was discussed, where power was cut from 135houses, in addition to discovering 303 houses occupied by bachelors out of 558violating houses.

In the meantime,Municipal Councilmember and head of the petitions and complaints committeeMeshaal Al-Hamdan said he will ask the municipality's legislative branch aboutevicting bachelors from private residential areas all over Kuwait during theperiod from Jan 2019 until now. Hamdan wants statistics showing the number ofevictions in each governorate, the date and the procedures taken in thisregard.
