ROME: Italian Carabinieri police chief, General Giovanni Nistri, expressed yesterday his aspiration to develop security and training cooperation with Kuwait to cope with emerging challenges. In a statement to the press, the Kuwaiti embassy said General Nistri met with Ambassador Sheikh Azzam Al-Sabah, where they discussed opportunities for mutual cooperation and exchange of experiences in all security branches.
The Carabinieri Military Police Corps is looking forward to resuming cooperation with the Kuwaiti security and guarding services and providing its advanced technical and professional expertise, Nistri stressed. The Carabinieri commander expressed possibility of receiving representatives of the Kuwaiti security services to discuss forms of cooperation from organizing courses to qualify national cadres in all disciplines.
Meanwhile, ambassador Sheikh Azzam praised the professionalism of the Carabinieri police, its role in maintaining order, fighting crime and combating terrorism, and its remarkable role in supporting security around the world as in many Arab countries, stressing Kuwait's keenness to benefit from experiences within the strong Kuwaiti-Italian friendship. - KUNA
