Baghdad: Iraqi President Abdullatif Rashid expressed on Thursday his country's keenness on boosting bilateral ties with Kuwait on the basis of mutual respect and common interests.
This came in a statement by the Iraqi presidency during the reception of Kuwaiti Ambassador Tareq Al-Faraj at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.
The statement said that the Iraqi president expressed to Ambassador Al-Faraj his deep gratitude towards His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
On his part, Ambassador Al-Faraj told KUNA that he conveyed, during the meeting, their Highnesses the Amir and Crown Prince's congratulations to the Iraqi President on assuming office.
He added that he expressed Kuwait's willingness in strengthening relations between both countries and fulfilling their people's aspirations.
