KUWAIT: The Ministry of Interior yesterday signed a contract for supplying the new e-passport as part of the security institution's persistent efforts to apply the latest technology for better services to citizens, according to a statement.
The supplier company briefed the ministry's Undersecretary Lieutenant General Suleiman Al-Fahad on the plan of carrying out the project and the date of delivery, the Security Media Department of the ministry added in the statement.
Fahd lauded the new achievement which will have positive outcome for security, and the services offered to citizens, as a step on the way of completing the modernization plan being implemented by the security establishment. He also stressed the necessity of abolishing all obstacles and taking the necessary measures for completing the e-passport project as soon as possible.
Senior officials of the Interior Ministry attended the meeting with officials of the supplier company. The contract covers designing and producing the new passports in Germany, to be delivered in six months. - KUNA
