The Embassy of India in Kuwait hosted a musical evening titled 'Easter Concert', celebrating India's 'unity in diversity' at the embassy auditorium on April 21, 2022. The concert, presented by Kuwait Chamber Chorale, was attended by a large number of ambassadors resident in Kuwait and members of the Indian community. Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Tajikistan Dr Zabidullah Zabidov and Apostolic Nuncio to Kuwait and Qatar Archbishop Eugene Nugent were among the dignitaries who were present at the concert.
The concert began with the national anthem of India followed by many melodious numbers in multiple languages, marking the occasion of Easter. The concert also included patriotic songs like 'Vande Matharam' and 'Sare Jahan se Acha'. "Today, we are here joining our Christian brothers and sisters celebrating Easter, observing the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In coming weeks and months, we will continue to celebrate in Kuwait, India's unity in diversity, as part of the 75th anniversary of India's independence and 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Kuwait," Indian Ambassador Sibi George said in his inaugural address.
Highlighting India's civilizational ethos, the ambassador said that Indians celebrate all festivals which symbolize India's unity in diversity of which all Indians are proud of. Underlining the unique values of the constitution of India, the ambassador said every child in India is free to pursue his/her dream or follow his/her passion thanks to the constitution which guarantees justice - social, economic and political; liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; and equality of status and of opportunity.
The ambassador pointed out that Indians in Kuwait are a cross-section of India, representing its rich and varied culture, adding that the community members are contributing immensely to the economic development of Kuwait. "We have become an integral part of the sociocultural and economic fabric of Kuwait," he said. He thanked the Indian community for its contributions in promoting vibrant India-Kuwait bilateral relations, which have evolved into a long-standing dynamic partnership.
