it really true that all those who walk on two legs are human? I honestly have doubts about that! How sorry a "human being" can be? The atrocities that were committed by those who are considered members of the human race suggest that there is a beast living somewhere in the body of what looks like a human and gains full control then the most heinous acts are committed.
Reports about killings are heard everywhere and this became something normal, as it happens every single day. We started to see brother killing brother, and let's take Lebanon as an example. In 2005, there were four assassinations that started with the massive explosion that took the life of Prime Minister Rafiq Al-Hariri and many of his aides and passersby.
Four months later, prominent journalist Samir Kassir was killed, followed 19 days later by the assassination of George Hawi. Then the year ended with the killing of influential journalist Gebran Tueni. In 2006, an explosion caused the death of Mahmoud Al-Majdoub. In 2007, there were three assassinations including one against Army Operations Director Francio Al-Haj.
In 2008, there were four explosions killing at least 12 soldiers in addition to politicians. In 2012, the intelligence chief of domestic security was killed. In 2013, 27 people were killed and more than 300 injured in an explosion. There were four explosions in 2013 that killed more than 64 persons. In 2014, five blasts claimed the lives of 29 people, while 98 were killed in two other explosions. In 2016, five people were killed in an incident. Then came the horrible incident at Beirut port early last week that claimed the lives of over 154 innocent people.
I honestly feel bad and sad at what is being done to humanity by so-called humans. What took place in Lebanon pained our hearts and we shed tears. What makes it worse is that it could have been avoided - at least from what we know from reports so far.
Being an optimist to the full extent of what this word carries in its meaning, I still have hope that the human being will realize his true nature and stop acting as the beast incarnate and stop rivers of blood flowing all over the globe. I pray to Almighty God that this day be with us soon - very soon.
