KUWAIT: Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) has reported an impressive start to 2019, recording the second highest number of smartphone sales worldwide for Q1 2019 resulting in a 50 per cent growth in the number of Huawei smartphones in the global market, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Q1 2019 report.
The report states that a 59.1 million Huawei smartphones were shipped across the globe during the first quarter of 2019, resulting in the Chinese technology giant now holding a 19 per cent share in the global smartphone market, the largest in Huawei's history.
The latest results underline Huawei Consumer Business Group's (CBG) rapidly-growing reputation as a major player in the global smartphone marketplace and reinforce the company's commitment to providing consumers with the latest advanced technologies, according to executives.
"With smartphones now such an intrinsic part of modern lifestyles and technologies evolving at a rapid rate, we feel it is our duty at Huawei (CBG) to learn and develop from within, in order to continue to deliver excellence to our loyal consumers and the wider market," said Jason Jiang, General Manager of Huawei CBG Kuwait.
"Our results for Q1 highlight how as a company we stay abreast of latest developments. A 50 per cent growth in the volume of Huawei smartphones globally is an indicator that our consumers believe in our products and that Huawei Consumer Business Group is delivering the most advanced devices that will support their everyday tasks," Jiang added.
