Contributing to capacity building and ICT talent training

KUWAIT: Huawei Technologies Kuwait, a leading global Information and Communication Technology solutions provider, recently signed a MoU with the Kuwait Ministry of State for Service Affairs to increase internal ICT capabilities. To strengthen the capacity of high-caliber ICT professionals and accelerate efforts to build an information society in Kuwait, the ministry's employees will undergo a series of training programs and attain top-level certifications from Huawei Kuwait.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Services Affairs, Eng Kholoud Al-Shehab, confirmed that the signing of the agreement of Talent Development program for information and communication technology with Huawei comes within the framework of training and qualifying the cadres of the ministry's staff on the latest technologies. Undersecretary explained that Huawei cooperated with MOC for many projects and it is very good that Huawei initiate the talent development program as Huawei has an internationally accredited training center at the level of Kuwait, and we are appreciating the role of Huawei in this agreement.

The Managing Director of Carrier business, Gulf north Region, Rico Lin explained that Huawei initiate the talent development program to cultivate MOC staff with latest technology as Huawei have been cooperated with MOC for almost 10 years, and expecting to have more cooperation in the future.

Geared towards raising the ICT proficiency of the staff, Huawei's talent development plan will introduce the technicians to new and strategically focused areas of the next generation business. Huawei shall provide facilities and professional trainers coaching in different technical areas such as FTTX Network, Transmission, Core Network, IP network, OSP network and so on. Additionally, Huawei will provide the latest technological workshops regularly to meet the Ministry's stringent requirements and provide e-Learning services for trainees which can be accessed at anytime, anywhere, on-demand at high efficiency. The final course of the program will provide Huawei professional service certifications which are categorized into three levels, each staff member will be granted the 'Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA), Huawei Certification ICT Professional (HCIP), and Huawei Certified ICT Expert (HCIE)' depending on their performance. Huawei will grant certification to Trainee's who passed the professional evaluation exams, will also be granted special certificates of completion.

The opening ceremony was attended by Undersecretary of Ministry of State for Services Affairs, Assistant Undersecretary of Telecom Sector, media representatives and Huawei Technologies Kuwait senior management.
