DUBAI: Huawei Honor, the number one smartphone e-brand brought Honor 7 to the Middle East on Oct 12 as part of its hugely successful global rollout. Having already made waves around the world after reaching more than 9 million pre-orders and selling out in just one day in Europe, Honor 7 will help catapult the Honor brand to achieve $5 billion by the end of this year.

Honor is already on track to achieve its target of 10 percent market share in online phone sales in the Middle East this year and will be looking to secure this further with the launch of Honor 7, as well as solidify its game-changing status in the market. Chris Sun Baigong, Vice President of Huawei Honor in the Middle East, commented: "After all the global hype regarding the Honor 7, we are delighted to announce that it is now in the Middle East. Based on the huge wave of anticipation and subsequent sell-out success, we have high expectations of the Honor 7 in this region.” As part of its brave global roll out, Honor brought world-record breaking, champion slackliner Andy ‘Sketchy’ Lewis to Dubai to take part in the launch event. Andy also revealed plans of his next world record slacklining attempt, where he will walk across a slack rope between two nail-bitingly high points in Dubai, in partnership with Honor. Kept well under wraps but months in the planning, Andy will work with Honor to scope out some of the most iconic buildings in the city during his visit next month.

Lewis commented, "I am absolutely thrilled to come to Dubai to mark the Honor 7 launch! It was an awe-inspiring event in itself, and I am anxious to start scoping out how I may be able to realize my own goal of becoming a worldrecord holder in the Middle East. I feel privileged to be working with Honor as I have dreamed to create history in this spectacular region. I feel grateful to have such an innovative partner to help make it happen and this will be a truly monumental and unforgettable achievement.” The launch event took place at Art Sawa in Al Quoz on Oct 12.
