House of Baskets, deep-rooted connection between Bahraini people and palm trees

The Bahraini House of Baskets reflects the connection between Bahraini people, farmers in particular, and palm trees, as being a significant part of their identity and source of income.

The house project, restored in 2022, presents the craft of making baskets, hosting professionals and craftsmen and offering many training programs and workshops for the sustainability of the craft.

It is located in the village of Al-Qalaa, near the site of Qal’at Al Bahrain, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and is dedicated to promoting the basketry craft. –KUNA
