Hot, sticky weather to continue in state

KUWAIT: Meteorologist Abdelaziz Al-Qarawi said Kuwait is witnessing high relative humidity in some areas, particularly coastal ones. He forecast hot weather today and northwesterly winds in coastal areas, while maximum temperatures will vary between 48-50 degrees Celsius.

MP demands answers

MP Essa Al-Kandari said he sent a parliamentary question to Oil Minister Essam Al-Marzouq about the reduction of incentives of workers in the oil sector. Kandari asked about studies with regards to the reduction of financial incentives and employment advantages based on which the CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Co presented initiatives and caused a mass dispute with workers that ended in a strike.

He also asked whether the reduction initiative was presented to a legal entity or the fatwa and legislation department to discuss its legality before introducing it. Kandari also wanted to know the amount of actual losses from the oil workers' strike.
