KUWAIT: Underauspices of Minister of State for Economic Affairs Mariam Al-Aqeel, the 2019Horeca Kuwait exhibition will be opened tomorrow at Kuwait InternationalFairgrounds in Mishref with participation of companies specialized inhospitality, catering and hotel equipment. The three-day event is organized bythe Leaders Group Company for Consulting and Development in collaboration withthe Hospitality Services Company.

In this regard,Leaders Group stressed that Horeca is a unique event in Kuwait in terms of itstype and size. The organizing committee also noted that the opening ceremonywould be attended by heads of diplomatic, commercial and touristic missionsdesignated in Kuwait, public sector officials, heads of boards of directors,experts and heads of chef unions in a number of European, Arab and Asiancountries, who would take part in the cooking competitions held at theexhibition's sidelines.

The committee'sstatement added that all booths and display spaces had been booked very early,and explained that the opening ceremony would feature a speech by the minister,followed by a speech by Leaders Group's General Manager Nabila Al-Anjeri, thena tour for officials and guests around the exhibition to be briefed aboutvarious items on display and the cooking competition activities. The organizingcommittee also  announced that theexhibition is sponsored by around 80 companies, adding that over 320participants from Kuwait and other countries would take part in 21competitions. 

Two symposiums   

Meanwhile,Leaders Group announced that this year's activities include two main symposiumsfeaturing ten specialized speakers who will discuss the future of the sectorson display. The first seminar takes place on the first day of the exhibitionfrom 5-6 pm under the title of 'The Rise of Homegrown Food and Beverages Trendin Kuwait,' while the second seminar will be held on the second day at the sametime under the title of 'Healthy Food and Beverages Trend in Kuwait,' thecompany said in a statement yesterday.

Speakers on thefirst seminar include Amer Zeltoun, Managing Partner at Maki Group; Chef FaisalAI-Nashmi, Director of Culinary Development at AI-Makan United Company andco-owner 'Street AI-Makan', 'Table Otto', 'Pam+ cow' and 'Street Café'; ChefSamaan HilaI, Managing Partner of Brainsteam (Lebanon); Jad Alameddine,Director of Food and Beverage at Mohamed Naser AI-Hajery and Sons Company; andAmr AI-Refal, Founder and CEO of 'Solo Co.' Nagi Morkos, Managing Partner ofHodema Consulting Services, will moderate the seminar.

Speakers on thesecond day include Dana AI-Salem, Managing Partner of Re-Store, Farm Managerand Sadeer Farms; Amal Chahine, Managing Partner of Ovo; Dalal AI-Tawheed,Co-Founder of Clean Eats;  and RashidSultan, Founder and Managing Partner of Savor Ventures. Nada Alameddine,Partner at Hodema Consulting Services, will moderate the seminar.

In the meantime,Horeca Kuwait's executive manager and secretary general of the Hotel OwnersUnion Mohammed Najia said that the exhibition has been gaining momentum on anannual basis. He added that the new seminars started in 2018 and highlyappealed to hospitality companies and specialized visitors. Furthermore, Najianoted that the three-day cooking competitions include 320 contesters in variouscategories and that the jury panel includes heads of culinary unions andacademies from around the world.
