The Real Fouz

One of my favorite moments of 2017 was winning "The most Influential Woman on Social Media" award at the Arab Woman Awards held at the Four Seasons Kuwait this October. This was such a huge honor for me, one that I didn't expect at all. I was so excited when I got the invitation to the award show and was so proud to be a part of an amazing event like this that supports and encourages women all over the region to be strong and successful, so the fact that I ended up WINNING an award was an indescribable feeling.

The Arab Woman Awards was created to provide a culturally accepted platform to raise public awareness of the achievements of Arab women across the GCC and provide positive role models for young women. They launched in 2009 by ITP Media Group's Executive Director, Sue Holt, who kept coming across talented, hardworking, and inspiring Arab Women. Because of the fact that she worked in one of the largest media companies in the region, she wanted to provide a platform to promote these women in a way that benefited their culture and society for the better. The awards are now held annually in the UAE, Qatar, KSA, and Kuwait.

The outfit I wore to the event was very unique and out of my comfort zone but it really made me feel feminine, classy, and elegant. I wore Oscar De Le Renta's Asymmetric panel embellished top paired with simple black pants and my favorite Gianvito Rossi heel pumps. The top is such a unique piece because it gave the vibe of a couture gown with the embellishments and the draping but it still easy to wear with trousers, so it was a great choice for me to wear for this event. I enjoyed experimenting with my style a bit and going for a different look which caught a lot of attention on social media and interested a lot of my followers.

When I started using social media a few years ago, it never occurred to me that my work in this field would lead me to opportunities and moments like these. It was first just a hobby I enjoyed doing on the side like sharing make up looks and tips, products I was loving etc. so the fact that I'm here today recognized globally as being the most influential women in the region feels like a dream come true. I'm forever grateful to my loyal followers and supporters who continue to show me love and support with everything I do throughout the years. I really appreciate and love you guys!

I believe that women should always encourage one another and believe in themselves to be the best at what they do and what they love despite any circumstances or society holding them back or telling them that they can't. To all you amazing, influential, powerful, and beautiful Arab women out there, this one's for you!
