KUWAIT: Adan Hospital's investigator informed police that a woman arrived with bruises and burns on several parts of her body. The Sri Lankan woman said that her sponsor caused her injuries, saying that she was assaulted at his house in Dhaher where she worked as a domestic helper. The prosecutor ordered the sponsor to be arrested for questioning.

Rapist arrested

Ahmadi detectives identified the rapist of an 11-year-old Syrian boy who he had kidnapped in Abu Halaifa recently. The suspect, a Kuwait National Guard recruit, was arrested and referred to the public prosecution.

Suicide

A man committed suicide by slashing his wrists during a hysterical fit. Police had responded to an emergency call in which a Kuwaiti man said that his son went hysterical and was bleeding from self-inflected wounds. When they arrived to the scene, police spotted the man running away from his house, with family members chasing him in an apparent attempt to calm him down. The man then crashed into a glass door at his neighbor's house, then used a piece of glass to slash his wrists and legs, before collapsing. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, but he died upon arrival. A case was filed for investigations.

New drug

Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Department discovered a new type of drug that has spread among addicts in the area. Major Meshaal Al-Mutairi, head of the police station, took a sample of the substance to the forensics department and found out that it is used by vets to treat animals with severe fractures, and when consumed by humans, it has an intense effect on the brain. Investigations led to a veterinarian who was arrested in his Salmiya apartment. The suspect confessed to making the substance and selling it with the help of two Egyptian men. Detectives arrested the veterinarian, and are looking for the other suspects.

Boy safe

Police received a call from a man asking for help as his son disappeared in the sea while swimming near Kuwait Towers. Firemen and coastguards searched the area immediately, only to find out the boy was playing on the beach.

Forgery

Detectives were tipped about an Asian man who was produced copies of university degrees, which are given to people to use when they submit paperwork to the traffic department to obtain drivers licenses. Investigations led to the man who was placed under arrest at his apartment in Farwaniya. Police also found inside five embassy stamps, in addition to five forged transactions. The suspect confessed that he collected KD 200 for each forged paper.
