KUWAIT: Health inspection centres for expatriate labor will reopen on Sunday with online registration now made possible, a health ministry official has said. The centres will begin operating according to a 30 percent capacity during the first phase of coronavirus lockdown easing, which will gradually increase in later phases, public health director Dr. Fahad Al-Ghimlas added.

The registration process, simply by entering one's civil ID information on the ministry website, will be open to the employee's sponsor, a company representative or the expatriates themselves. The checkup's destination will be selected according to the address of the applicant or their workplace but the time will be optional based on available time slots. The ministry has ensured that visitors to the four checkup centres maintain a safe distance through arranging scheduled timeslots, over morning and evening sessions, thus preventing crowds.

Visitors will only be allowed entry wearing a face mask and will be required to maintain social distancing with others by no less than two meters. The centres are located in Shuwaikh, for inhabitants of the Capital and Hawalli governorates, Sabhan, for Farwaniya residents, Fahaheel, for Ahmadi residents and Jahra for residents of the Jahra governorate. - KUNA
