KUWAIT: Kuwait Asian Shooting Championship 2024 continues at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex as today there will be the first qualification rounds for men, women and juniors at 75 clay targets. The tournament was officially declared open last night (Saturday evening) during the opening ceremony.

Meanwhile, President of Asian Shooting Confederation Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, along with the President of the International Shooting Sport Federation Luciano Rossi and President of Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations Engineer Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi made a tour of the ranges to check the latest preparations by officials and shooters.

The ASC executive committee held a meeting chaired by its President Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud after which Kuwait Shooting Federation Secretary General, tournament director Obaid Al-Osaimi said the meeting discussed committees reports and made plans aiming at the development of work through increasing efforts in this regard. Al-Osaimi said Kuwait Asian Championship will be highly competitive as shooters will aim at the 8 quota places for the Paris 2024 Olympics as he wished participants all success.

Al-Osaimi lauded the efforts of the Higher Organizing Committee and its Sub-committees for the efforts made along with volunteers to ensure its success just like previous tournaments.

Meanwhile, Jordan’s head of the delegation Khalid Naghaway said Jordan is participating with six shooters 3 trap and 3 skeet, adding that Kuwait shooting sports officials are highly successful in organizing major tournaments with large number of participants which makes teams participate in championships held in the land of friendship and peace.

Naghaway appreciated the efforts of Kuwait Shooting Federation under the leadership of engineer Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi and board members for their continued work to develop the Asian shooting sport.
