KUWAIT: At the end of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Gulf Bank organized healthy entertainment activities for its employees and the public at Al-Shaheed Park on October 30, 2021. The event activities included a yoga session, a walkathon, and a panel discussion that focused on the importance of mental health in the lives of breast cancer patients.
These events came in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and to highlight not only the disease and the importance of early detection, but also the role of public health and mental health, especially in improving the lives of patients and increasing their chances of overcoming the disease.
The Health Day and the first Gulf Bank Walkathon were attended by more than 250 participants from the Bank's employees and their families and friends, where they joined a yoga session, followed by a 4 km walkathon, and the discussion panel in which Joanne Hands spoke. In addition to these activities, Gulf Bank hosted Dr Fatemah Khaja for a workshop for female employees on how important early detection is and distributed free vouchers for checkups.
On this Health Day, General Manager of Human Resources at Gulf Bank, Dr Salma Al-Hajjaj said: "While we are keen on the professional performance and excellence of our employees, we can never lose sight of their health and safety. And because we recognize the importance of mental health in the lives of people, healthy and sick alike and we are aware of our role and duty, which requires us to raise awareness and create health initiatives for employees and their families, we are keen annually to participate in breast cancer awareness, and we always encourage periodic examination, and a healthy lifestyle that prevents and helps overcome diseases. We hope that all our employees and their families enjoyed the Health Day at Al Shaheed Park, and we wish them a healthy life free of diseases, and a healthy lifestyle that helps them always develop and progress."
October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual global campaign which is known in countries around the world, with the aim of raising awareness, education, and research about breast cancer.
