Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf on Monday reaffirmed the GCC states' support to UN efforts aiming to restore security, stability and peace in Yemen.
This came in a meeting between Al-Hajraf and the US Special Envoy to Yemen Timothy Linderking at the GCC Secretariat in Riyadh.
Both sides reviewed the UN efforts to end the conflict in Yemen and to intensify the international community pressure on the Houthi group to engage seriously in the peace process in accordance with UN-recognized points of reference, a statement from the Secretariat said.
They also emphasized the importance of the GCC Council's to support the Leadership Council in Yemen to achieve security, peace and stability in Yemen and to support development efforts.
