KUWAIT: The public prosecution yesterday referred former MP Khaled Al-Sultan to court, over charges pertaining with statements in which he reportedly questioned the way a court handled the 'Abdaly cell' case hearing. Meanwhile, a court yesterday annulled the Kuwait Transparency Society's elections held on April 13, 2014. The court also adjourned hearing a state security case against blogger 'Chabreet Seyassi2' (Political Matches) until Feb 16 and refused cancelling a summons warrant issued against lawyer Falah Al-Hajraf. Separately, the appeals court yesterday seconded a previous sentence acquitting Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Sabah in a state security case filed against him.
Policeman acquitted
Lawyer Dr Khaled Al-Kafifa stressed that the court of appeal seconded a previous sentence acquitting a police officer from charges of joining and fighting with the 'Mohammed Army' and 'Levant Troops' groups.
Slaughter areas
Municipal Council members Ali Al-Moussa and Hassan Kamal inquired about slaughter areas at various slaughterhouses and whether they matched hygienic conditions and included special barns to receive and examine livestock and isolate sick heads.
