KUWAIT: Kuwait's Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah expressed pleasure and praised on Tuesday the sixth anniversary of naming His Highness the Amir as a 'Humanitarian Leader' and the State of Kuwait as a 'Humanitarian center' by the UN.
The minister, in a press statement directed to His Highness the Amir, added that such recognition reflects Kuwait's leading philanthropic status, and congratulated the Amir on the occasion. The minister said that the honoring also reflects on the State of Kuwait relentless efforts during the exceptional circumstances due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The minister concluded by praying to Allah Almighty for a speedy recovery and return of His highness the Amir to the homeland.
Meanwhile, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Muhammad Al-Jabri recalled with pride the anniversary of honoring. "As we live this national occasion, we pray to Allah Almighty to bless His Highness the Amir and perpetuates his health, wellness and wishing the safe return of His Highness to his homeland and his people," Jabri said in a press statement.
"His Highness the Amir's keenness to provide humanitarian initiatives and hosting many international humanitarian and relief conferences has made the State of Kuwait a pioneering leader in the field of humanitarian work." Jabri said that in spite of the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Kuwait continued its humanitarian and relief role under the directives of the high political leadership to help in reducing the negative impacts of the pandemic on peoples and countries.
In the meantime, Chairperson of Board of Trustees of Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award Sheikha Aida Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah said Tuesday that Kuwait has played a leading humanitarian role worldwide, thanks to the efforts of His Highness the Amir. She expressed, in a press statement, her congratulations on the anniversary, which she said, reflects Kuwait's leading philanthropic status.
She added that His Highness the Amir's distinguished role extended to all people of the world, and witnessed the humanitarian efforts, development initiatives and donor conferences, launched from Kuwait, which saved many afflicted people. She mentioned that Kuwait, being dubbed center for humanitarian action, is a result of its role in providing aid and assistance across continents, particularly during economic crises and natural disasters. Sheikha Aida also affirmed that Kuwait will always remain the source of goodness and generosity and wished a speedy recovery to His Highness the Amir. - KUNA
