NEW YORK: Kuwait's Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah met Friday in New York City with US Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking. During the meeting, Lenderking briefed on latest developments in the Yemeni file, praising the State of Kuwait's contributions; both on political and humanitarian levels, to restore safety and stability to Yemen.
Meanwhile, the country's top diplomat reaffirmed the State of Kuwait's firm and principled stance regarding Yemen's safety and stability according to the Saudi peace initiative, the Gulf peace initiative, outcomes of the Yemeni inclusive national dialogue and the UN Security Council resolution 2216. Sheikh Dr Ahmad also stressed significance of the United States' role in the Yemeni file, as well as Kuwait's support of the Special Envoy efforts in this regard. - KUNA
