WASHINGTON: Kuwaiti Foreign Minister and Acting Minister of Information Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, in the presence of Kuwaiti Ambassador to the United States Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, met with staff members of the embassy and heads of the attached offices.
The meeting was held on the sideline of Sheikh Dr Ahmad's participation in the fourth Kuwaiti-US strategic dialogue on Wednesday, the foreign ministry said in a statement. Minister Sheikh Dr Ahmad conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Sheikh Dr Ahmad affirmed that the Kuwaiti leadership was very pleased with the role carried out by the embassy's staff and diplomats in their assistance to Kuwaiti nationals abroad especially during the repatriation to Kuwait during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
They also praised the ongoing assistance provided to citizens seeking treatment, students, and Kuwaitis on leisure in the US, he added. Meanwhile, Kuwait's Ambassador to Washington Sheikh Salem lauded the meeting with the Foreign Minister and expressed gratitude towards instructions provided by Sheikh Dr Ahmad.
He affirmed that the embassy and attached offices will continue to serve Kuwaiti citizens and focused on means to bolster relations with the United States. During the meeting, heads of offices in Washington briefed Sheikh Dr Ahmad on their duties and efforts to improve cooperation with US and services for citizens. - KUNA
