Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled meets outgoing Russian ambassador
KUWAIT: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah met yesterday with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Abdul-Latif Al-Zayani, looking into the GCC General Secretariat strategy particularly in information technology.
Zayani, currently on a two-day official visit to the country with company of a delegation, examined with Sheikh Sabah Khaled the GCC General Secretariat vision and strategy to overhaul its tasks, especially in the information technology sector. The discussions also dealt with means to broaden inter-GCC cooperation through the council committees, in addition to cooperation and integration programs and the secretariat's relentless action to empower the youth in member countries to be successful at international quarters.
Also attending the meeting were Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Khaled Al-Jarallah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Bureau Affairs of the Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Ambassador Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Arabian Gulf States' Affairs Ambassador Nasser Al-Mzain, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for the Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Bureau Affairs Ambassador Saleh Al-Loughani, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Arabian Gulf States Affairs Abdullah Al-Mawed and other senior officials.
Attending from the GCC side was GCC Assistant Secretary General for Legislative and Legal Affairs Ambassador Hamad Al-Meri, the Secretary General Media Advisor Hamad Al-Menaee, Director General of the General Directorate for Information and Planning Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, Director of the Secretary General's Bureau and Director of the Information Technology Department Abdullah Al-Jarbou and Director of Planning Department Shaimaa Al-Mazrou'.
In other news, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled met yesterday with Russian Ambassador to Kuwait Alexey V Solomatin on the occasion of ending his tenure in the country. The Foreign Minister praised the Ambassador's work and his contribution to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries. A number of ministry officials attended the meeting. - KUNA
