KUWAIT: The parliament's financial affairs committee invited Defense Minister Sheikh Mohammed Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, Finance Minister Anas Al-Saleh and Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh to attend its meeting at 11:00 am to discuss decree law no. 69/1980 pertaining with military personnel's pensions and retirement indemnities.

Meanwhile, the parliament's legislative committee is scheduled to meet at 9:00 am this morning to discuss the constitutionality of a request made by the parliament's budgets and final statements' committee to have the finance minister provide it. The committee's meeting agenda also includes a request to lift the immunity of MP Mohammed Hayef Al-Mutairi, amending law no. 28/2011 pertaining with the allowances of Kuwaiti teaching staff members at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, and amending clause no. 1 of article 26 of law no. 98/2013 pertaining the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises.

Labor residences

The state property department's manager Salah Al-Obaidan asked the municipality to allocate two new sites to build expatriate labor residences in Shuaiba industrial area and to the south of the municipality scrap yard.

Industrial lands

Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudahn said the Public Authority for Industry (PAI) will soon discuss distributing new industrial land plots, noting that nominations would be made according to applicants' projects' added value and capital, competence, the technology used and the number of national labor hired. Roudhan said 4,200 initial approvals were ready, in addition to distributing 1,048 plots in Shedadiya. He also noted that instead of issuing the needed licenses in two months, licenses would now be issued within 15 days.
