KUWAIT: Hawallyand Salmiya fire stations responded to a fire that started in a basement of aHawally building. The basement was used as a seamstress' shop, where textileswere stored. The 18-storey building was evacuated and fire was put out quickly.
A fireman wasinjured, treated in hospital and discharged in stable condition. No otherinjuries were reported. In a separate incident, Farwaniya fire station menresponded to a fire that started on the sixth floor of a building in Khaitan.Firemen evacuated the building before putting out the blaze.
