KUWAIT: No injuries were reported in a massive blaze that engulfed warehouses across a 4,000-square-meter area in Shuwaikh yesterday.

Firefighters raced to protect an area of nearly 20,000 square meters containing warehouses and offices owned by major companies in Kuwait, thus managing to save lives as well as millions of dinars in property from the flames.

Teams from seven fire departments were able to bring under control the fire that engulfed three warehouses in Shuwaikh industrial zone, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) announced. The fire only caused material damage, KFSD Director Major General Khalid Al-Mekrad said, adding that firefighters were able to isolate the fire from spreading to nearby warehouses. Investigation has been opened to know the reasons behind the fire.
