KUWAIT: Kuwait’s International Tennis referee Ahmad Khalaf becomes the first to participate in Roland Garros Open, which is one of the Grand Slam tournaments being held in France.

Khalaf’s participation after he received the international bronze badge besides his colleague Abdulraouf Abdulsalam and his participation in Wimbledon last year.

Khalaf was excellent in officiating the matches and was asked to referee in Roland Garros and gave an excellent expression about the Kuwaiti referees’ abilities.

Khalaf said he was happy with the invitation he received from the International Federation, adding “thanks to Kuwait Tennis Federation and Public Authority for Sport for their support and I am very happy to be the first Kuwaiti to participate in one of the grand slam tournaments.

He said Kuwaiti referees are able to present an honorable image of Kuwait sports at all levels, adding that he participated in Wimbledon last year, and was chosen to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
