KUWAIT: Taiba Hospital announced the signing of an agreement for the delivery of Integrated Facility Management with ENGIE Services Kuwait, a leader in the low carbon transition and part of the global ENGIE Group, during an event held in Kuwait. On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Kuwait Times spoke with Tomas Greenwood, General Manager at ENGIE services in Kuwait, about the services that will be provided to Taiba Hospital.

Greenwood's primary focus is to identify key prospects; secure large contracts for Integrated Facility Management that includes hard services, soft services and energy efficiency. The contract also involves overseeing site deliverables to maintain ENGIE's high standards as a true differentiator in the Kuwaiti marketplace.

Commenting on the agreement, Greenwood said: "We are pleased to partner with Taiba Hospital for this Integrated Facilities Management contract, with a duration of five years. This partnership is the first of its kind within Kuwait's healthcare sector, as it is a key performance indicator contract which measures a set of targets and objectives that will achieve a high standard in service delivery. It does this by using innovation and best practices from across the global ENGIE Group, as well as our industry, to achieve a high standard of efficiency."

He noted that many benefits will follow as a result of this partnership with Taiba Hospital. "ENGIE Services Kuwait will enable the hospital to focus on its core business in healthcare, looking after patients while ENGIE manages the engineering, cleaning, security, porterage, waste and laundry service lines," he explained. "Our partnership takes away the numerous invoices and management of several different specialist subcontractors, while self-delivering others to provide a best in class value-added service."

"ENGIE is providing a one stop shop solution for Taiba Hospital, with one point of contact and one invoice," he pointed out. "ENGIE will manage the rest. Another key point of this partnership is around compliance and safety. With ENGIE's experience as a global player, we are well used to working in the healthcare environment and can guarantee a fully compliant safe solution that is completely legal and safe for all staff and patients, thereby helping them to achieve the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation."

Greenwood expressed ENGIE's excitement to be in Kuwait at a time when the marketplace is evolving. "ENGIE is ahead of the curve as the market shifts away from the old manpower supply format, with KPI contracts of this nature positioning us favorably as leaders in this sector," he said.
