KUWAIT: Kuwaiti diplomatic missions in Sweden, Mexico, and China held ceremonies celebrating the anniversaries of Kuwait's 56th National Day and 26th Liberation Day, and the 11th year of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah assumption of power.

In Sweden, the Kuwaiti Ambassador Nabeel Rashed Al-Dekheel and members of the embassy celebrated Kuwait's national occasions. The ceremony was attended by a number of local politicians, economic figures, and Arab and foreign diplomats who offered their congratulations to the Kuwaiti leadership and people.

The Ambassador congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti people on the advent of the national occasions.

Mexico

In a similar celebration in Mexico, the Kuwaiti Ambassador Met'ab Saleh Al-Mutawtah gave a speech praising the strong bilateral relations between Mexico and Kuwait, which is witnessing a remarkable and distinguished level of cooperation in various domains as propagated by the political leaderships of both countries.

He added that such national occasions are a great chance to express his love and loyalty to Kuwait and its political leadership. Kuwait will always recall the honorable position of Mexico in supporting Kuwait liberation from the Iraqi invasion in 1991, he said.

China

In China, the Kuwaiti Ambassador Sameeh Johar Hayat and the diplomatic mission held a ceremony on the national days. In a speech to the reception, Hayat offered his congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on the advent of Kuwait's celebrations. He praised the distinguished Kuwaiti-Chinese bilateral relations which witnesses remarkable cooperating and coordination at all levels.

Kuwait is the first member of the Gulf Cooperation countries to establish diplomatic relations with China back in 1971, he said. The diplomat recalled China's support to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in favor of the Kuwaiti rights, which resulted in the liberation of Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion in 1991. - KUNA
