KUWAIT: A bus heading to Abdaly flipped over, so two helicopters and eight ambulances were dispatched. Eleven injured people were taken to Jahra Hospital, two by helicopter. The injured include 10 Egyptians and one Kuwaiti.
Police crackdown
Eighteen fugitives, 21 people with expired visas and 14 persons reported absconding by their employers were arrested during a recent police campaign that was carried out over the weekend and covered several areas including Qairawan, Kabd, Um Al-Haiman and Wafra. Meanwhile, traffic police issued 2,664 tickets, impounded 161 vehicles and one motorbike, apprehended 26 underage drivers and sent six persons to the deportation detention during a similar campaign.
Firefighters' training
Director General of the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) Lt Gen Khalid Al-Mikrad attended the opening of the training module of firefighting and rescue in Mubarak Al-Abdullah, which was designed by Mishref fire station officer Lt Col Mohammed Nizar. Several displays of firefighting and rescue of the injured using extended ladders, ropes and other tools were held to boost skills of firemen. Meanwhile, Mikrad chaired a workshop to discuss the fire at a Dajeej mall. He began by conveying greetings of State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Salah to all those who participated in putting out the fire.
