KUWAIT: The 9th eGovernment Forum (EGOV9) and the accompanying technology exhibition will start on Sunday. This came in a press release issued by KFEOCH and NoufEXPO. “EGOV9 commences at 6.30 pm today under the patronage and with Mazen Saad Ali Al-Nahedh, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Affairs. We extend our thanks and gratitude to Al-Nahedh for his support and sponsorship of the forum,” the press release stated. NoufEXPO and KFEOCH also thanked Dr Rana Al-Fares for supporting their teams during the preparation stages.
EGOV9 objective
EGOV9 aims to trigger a comprehensive development renaissance in Kuwait, where technology in general and eGovernment programs, particularly, represent this renaissance’s pillar. More precisely, EGOV9 triggers a strategic initiative for integrating the eGovernment Program’s efforts with Development Plan efforts, an initiative that will form a renaissance path that will chart Kuwait’s bright future.
EGOV9 activities
EGOV9 includes presentations, panel discussions, and deliberations; recommendations will be submitted to the concerned authorities by the end. EGOV9 is a unique session of the eGovernment Forum because, for the first time in Kuwait, it calls for the integration of implementing the Development Plan with the eGovernment Program. There are common factors and steps included in the implementation of both. In the present era, information technology represents a crucial component of all projects. Also, the eGovernment Program requires a Development Plan that governs the development of education, health, society, economy, and all other aspects of life. EGOV9 highlight the common links between development and eGovernment in an attempt to overcome obstacles to their implementation together on new, modern, and economic foundations that ensure success. Finally, EGOV9 includes a technological exhibition that allows sponsoring companies and institutions to display their products and services.
NoufEXPO and KFEOCH concluded by thanking all the organizations that contributed to EGOV9, particularly the strategic government partner, the Central Agency for Information Technology. NoufEXPO and KFEOCH extended thanks to EGOV9 sponsors. They said, “We highly value and appreciate our Platinum sponsors Al-Ghanem Industries (XEROX), Burgan Bank, Zain Kuwait, Kuwait Finance House, and Kuwait Telecom Company (STC).
