KUWAIT: Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Yaqoub Al-Sane affirmed yesterday that an electronic signature (e-signature) system would facilitate access to the ministry's services as well as enabling employees and lawyers to complete most transactions online. In a press statement after initiating the e-signature system, Sane said that the country's legal system would stand to benefit from such a process.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Justice's (MOJ) Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs, Heba Al-Abduljaleel said the MOJ is activating the e-signature system, which will be applicable to all sectors of the ministry.
The MOJ is also in the process of introducing new services, which can be accessed on the ministry's official website, Abduljaleel added. The National Assembly (NA), in a session on January 21, permitted the government to authorize electronic transactions as it relates to civil and commercial prosecutions. - KUNA
