KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Industry organized the Industry Dialogue Forum on Sunday to discuss the mechanism of rationalization of energy consumption in industrial areas during peak hours in the presence of the director general of the Authority, Mohammed Al-Adwani, and with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, the Federation of Kuwaiti Industries, and the owners of industrial enterprises.

The official spokesman of the Authority, Walid Al-Majni, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the forum aims to develop joint solutions to reduce electric power levels by stopping work in industrial facilities during peak times, which contributes to rationalizing electricity consumption and avoiding current difficulties and challenges regarding electrical overloads. It is worth mentioning that the forum comes out of the sense and national motivation of the Authority, especially in light of the current circumstances in which the industrial sector is facing a number of challenges during the current electricity crisis.

He stressed that the authority has been paying great attention to the support and development of industrial areas since its inception. The forum provided several initiatives to the owners of the factories, including operating a single-shift system. Some of the factory owners actually took the initiative to stop work during peak times in appreciation for the national initiative. The forum will come up with important recommendations that will help rationalize electricity consumption in the industrial area and reduce electrical loads during the summer period. — KUNA
