KUWAIT: A drunk man decided to have a tipple in his neighbor's garden, who saw him and called the police. Ahmadi patrolmen went and arrested him with a bottle of liquor, and took him to the police station.
Forging signature
A citizen accused one of his employees of forging his signature on a work permit transaction in favor of a compatriot. A security source said the citizen told Saad Al-Abdullah police that an Egyptian working for him forged his signature on a transaction, so detectives were asked to arrest the suspect. In another development, eight persons entered the house of a non-Kuwaiti in Fintas and destroyed its contents. Security cameras captured the incident. Ahmadi detectives are working on the case.
Funds embezzlement
Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid ordered the suspension of a leader at the Interior Ministry until investigations are complete over charges of public funds embezzlement. The leader was sent to a disciplinary council at the orders of the minister after using his job to benefit from a contract to purchase vehicles with the help of an expat who worked with him in the same department. He equipped the vehicles at the lowest prices to benefit from the price difference, which amounted to tens of thousands of dinars without care to quality. The expat was terminated and sent to prosecution, while the leader was sent to a disciplinary council, then following several sessions, it was decided to send him to the public prosecution.
Absconding woman
Abu Halifa police returned an absconding woman to her family after she spent a week with a friend who works in a beauty salon. Abu Halifa detectives found the 19-year-old was staying in a Salmiya flat, so they went there and arrested her. She told them she fled because of family disputes, and she was asked by her friend to stay with her.
Mandoub mugged
A passport mandoub was mugged by two persons who attacked him in Maidan Hawally. While the victim was heading to a government department, two persons stopped him, beat him and took KD 1,200 and several passports before escaping.
