KUWAIT: The Drugs Control General Department arrested a man yesterday with of 39 kg of chemical, 50,000 Captagon tablets, 4 kg of shabu, 250 gm of hashish and a pistol. The arrest was made during a raid on the suspect's Kabd farm. He said the drugs belong to a central prison inmate and he works on his behalf. He added that the inmate's brother receives the money. The brother's house in Oyoun was raided, but he was not there. Drugs were also found in the house. The suspect and his brother are bedoons.
Municipality crackdown
Kuwait Municipality said Ahmadi safety department carried out a field tour on companies and plants in the outer areas of the south of Kuwait to make sure about the validity of safety and storage licenses. The tour resulted in issuing three citations worth KD 126,000 for the use of state property and having storage areas without licenses.
Suicide attempt
An Egyptian girl was rushed to Mubarak Hospital after slashing her wrists when her family restricted her movements because of her behavior, reported Al-Rai. The girl's mother called for help, so police and paramedics rushed her to hospital in critical condition. Investigations are ongoing.
Driving under the influence
A citizen was arrested under the influence of drugs after a chase, during which he caused two traffic accidents, Al-Rai reported yesterday. Patrolmen noticed him in Hawally and asked him to pull over, but he sped off instead, hit a car and continued to drive, before finally giving up after colliding with another vehicle. Police found hashish and shabu with him. He was taken to the Drugs Control General Department.
