KUWAIT: Charge d'Affaires of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the State of Kuwait Ju Myong Chol released the following statement on the occasion of the first anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah's assumption of office:

"It is my pleasure to celebrate with the friendly Kuwaiti people the first anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's assumption of the reins of government. I have the honor to express my sincere congratulations to His Highness the Amir over the first anniversary of His Highness taking the reins of power.

"During the reign of His Highness, Kuwait began a historical stage in the process of building and giving to complete the stages started by its honorable predecessors, and many achievements were made in various fields, including society and economy, as well as taking quarantine measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic and preparing a firm prospect for returning to normal life.

"His Highness the Amir's efforts culminated in the Gulf-Arab reconciliation, with the signing of the Al-Ula Agreement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and continued the approach that Kuwait followed with regards to its relations with its Arab brothers. He was keen to solve the problems facing the Arab nation, with a focus on the Palestinian issue as the first Arab issue.

"On this auspicious occasion, I sincerely wish His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah everlasting good health, success in leading the country, greater progress and prosperity for the friendly Kuwaiti people and I am sure that the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries will further develop in accordance with the interest of the peoples of the two countries."
