KUWAIT: Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Minister and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Fahd Al-Shula visits the Ahmadi municipal branch yesterday.

KUWAIT: Awqaf andIslamic Affairs Minister and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Fahd Al-Shulasaid his visit to the Ahmadi municipal branch is part of his visits tomunicipalities in various governorates in order to see firsthand onlinetransactions and services provided, as well as follow work being done for SabahAl-Ahmad residents following complaints by some of them. He said the mostnotable drawbacks he witnessed are concentrated in the technical files of realestate, which will be avoided in a new project related to online licensing.

About the newcleaning contracts, Shula said the Municipality is ready and committees wereformed to receive the new cleaning companies and make sure about their readiness,as the contracts on the field will start on Oct 10. About "immoral"ads on streets, he said there was a misunderstanding as some words may beinterpreted differently. Shula said he issued a circular to emphasizeadvertising rules and the national unity law.

Meanwhile,Municipality Director General Ahmad Al-Manfouhi said after the launch of thefirst stage of the electronic system that crowds frequenting the municipalityhave been reduced by 75 percent, and transactions are now processed throughelectronic and digital systems". He said the Municipality depends onnational personnel and Kuwaiti engineers, adding it is committed to thereplacement policy, as the Municipality has more than 90 percent Kuwaitiemployees. He said the number of Kuwaiti employees is 6,170, with 662 expatworkers.
