KUWAIT: Following up the ongoing investigation of a case involving bribing a police officer and a retired policemen, well-informed security sources said investigations conducted by detectives showed the bribes were for releasing detainees due to be deported for KD 1,000 each. The sources added that names of recently released detainees pending deportation will be reviewed as part of further investigations in the case. - Al-Qabas

Violators blacklisted
In a bid to protect domestic helpers and prevent violations committed against them, as well as protect the rights of both workers and recruitment offices, Public Authority for Manpower's Director Ahmad Al-Moussa said the authority will blacklist domestic help offices and sponsors who repeatedly violate the contracts signed with laborers or those involved in violating law number 68/2015. - Al-Jarida

Temporary labor residence
KUWAIT: Minister of State for Economic Affairs Mariam Al-Aqeel said a number of ideas are being considered concerning building labor cities, including building prefabricated structures temporarily at every project construction site for the laborers working there. Speaking on the sidelines of the workshop organized by the Municipal Council's reform and development committee, Aqeel explained that many suggestions had been discussed in this regard during the meeting of the demographics committee, including building temporary prefabricated camps at each site and dismantling them when the project is completed.
