KUWAIT: The Dar Suad Al-Sabah House for Culture and Creativity announces the cancellation of its annual participation and withdrawal from the 75th session of the Frankfurt International Book Fair following what Jurgen Bos, the director of the fair, announced in a statement of his explicit support for the Zionist attack on Palestinians in Gaza and the permissibility of the blood of civilians and the killing of hundreds of children.
The Frankfurt Fair decided to allocate part of the events to support Zionist voices and host representatives of the Jewish community in Germany to justify the aggression at a time when the exhibition announced the withdrawal of the Palestinian writer Adnia Shibli’s award and the cancellation of her honor previously scheduled for the exhibition.
Dar Suad Al-Sabah expresses its regret at this dangerous trend that tilts cultural effort towards an inhumane act that opposes the moral goal pursued by human decency. The House also denounces this biased position of an occupier and aggressor who turned Gaza into a mass grave and an open prison for more than two and a half million people who deserve a decent life. The House also affirms its support for the Palestinian right in full and the return of Jerusalem as the eternal capital of free Palestine.
