KUWAIT: KuwaitGlobal Steel Services, a subsidiary of Al-Yousifi Group, brings to Kuwait forthe first time a new venture for cutting and bending steel for constructionprojects in the country. "This company is the answer to a much-neededfaster and reliable steel service for the growing construction business inKuwait. This is a first in the country, covering around seven percent of themarket," said engineer Carlo Micoli, Managing Partner - Kuwait GlobalSteel Services.

"In 2019, wewant to cover at least 12 percent of the market and we are expanding to meetthe huge demand of the construction business in Kuwait. I am sure with ourentry, there will be more companies who will try the business and some haveindicated to do so. We welcome them, since we only have this much factoryoutput," said Micoli. The clients, according to Micoli, are mostly privatefirms, but they are working on government projects.

"I just cameafter meeting our new client (the Maternity Hospital in Al-Sabah health zone). We have more clients and they are big companies. The goal is for faster, reliable and less human involvement in cutting and bending steel. With the helpof machines, the usual 12 people you need at a conventional construction siteare now reduced to just one. So it's a cut of manpower from 12 to only one. Youdon't need that many people if you entrust the job to us and the machine willdo it faster and precisely," he added.

The Kuwait GlobalSteel Services facility is located in Amhgara industrial area near Jahra."Thanks to our Italian machines, a lot of projects will get completedfaster because we can easily cut and bend the steel needed for construction projects. If you want to finish your project faster, contact us - we are ready to helpcomplete your projects in the best possible time," he said.

Hailing fromItaly, Micoli introduced this system in the United Arab Emirates. His presencewas also felt in the construction of Abu Dhabi Airport, Dubai Metro, DubaiMall, Burj Al-Arab, The Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi Presidential Palace and theGrand Mosque.

The company wassupposed to be fully operational by the first quarter of 2016, but due to somegovernment requirements, the company started operations towards the middle of2017. "We have been fully operational since the past one year. The companyis receiving many clients now. The contractor buys steel from a local steelcompany and they deliver it to us in the factory for cutting and bending. Theywill tell us the rebar specifications they need - we will do the work as perthe customer's requirements. In this way, we are not only cutting their costs, but also their time in doing all this hard work," he said.
